Do I have to sit and wait while the email is sent over the satellite network?
No. Once the Companion—satellite email hotspot stores your email, you can immediately turn off your email device (smartphone, tablet, or email) and save your battery. The Companion provides the same timely send and receive experience you’d expect at the office.
Can I use my iPhone or Android phone to send and receive email?
Yes. The Companion has been tested with iPhone, iPad, numerous Android devices, Blackberry, and laptops. Almost any WiFi enabled device with an email application will work.
Do I need a special email application to use the satellite email hotspot?
No. You can use the application you use now. The Companion—satellite email hotspot supports standard email protocols to allow most client applications to work.
Can I receive email from my regular email account when using the Companion?
Yes. The Companion solution has been tested with all the major email providers and will work with any provider that adheres to standard email protocols. If you can retrieve your email today on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, the Companion can get your email.
If I don’t have my smartphone on when the email is received will I miss it?
No. The Companion will store the email until you read it.
My smartphone battery is dead; can I still get my email?
Yes. The Companion has a built-in webmail interface, which you can use to send or receive email. You just use a browser on another device to access the Companion web page, login with your assigned credentials select ‘webmail’ and you will have access to email.
